Just celebrated Christmas with a couple of our friends the other day and one of my best friends bought me a huge bundle of post eyes in all shapes and sizes to encourage my amigurumi obsession. Here's my first project made with them.

This kitty is based on the Gumball kitten pattern found at:

http://falwyn.wordpress.com/2007/11/03/gumballpattern/

I used all scrap wool left over from other projects, and stuck a piece of pipe cleaner in the tail so that I could shape it a bit. I changed the ears a bit from the original pattern, but they still aren't as triangular as I'd like.

That rocks!!!  Awesome idea with the pipe cleaner!  For the ears, to make them more 'pointy', i do an extra round of whatever the the start sc is.  Like if it's '6 sc in a ring', i do another 6.

Oh, Amber, this is so adorable! Such a sweet face and eyes, and white accents. Great job.

I have an alternate ear pattern now, and I'm experimenting with some back legs -- some people are very bothered by the lack of them, lol. Time to update the pattern!

Thanks so much for pointing it out to me -- it's such a thrill!
