GEEK on so many levels

Ok, so I am kind of a geek.  Well, a major geek, actually.  I knitted this to show the level of my geekitude.  This was my first ever garment, even though I have been knitting for about three years.  It took me all summer to finish because it had three different charts to read at the same time for the front.

My goal was to finish it in time for the new school year, and I was actually able to.  A marathon of Futurama really helped!  The yarn is 60% cotton, so it's not too warm to wear here in California.

Pattern: http://squeakyweasels.blogspot.com/2006/05/protopretty-dna-sweater-shell.html
Yarn: Valley Yarns Longmeadow (in Purple)

It is a little short, though I always wear something under it anyway (a little too lacey to wear it solo).

What do you guys think?

Thanks merricat and cdngreenie!

Genetics was my favorite subject in bio, so I jumped on this pattern as soon as I saw it.

This was your FIRST GARMENT Shocked ? I'm so impressed! and the mix of lace panels and DNA is absolutly evolutionary. Thanks for the link, too -- very tempting.

Evolutionary.. tehe Cheesy

I had to do something that kept my interest, what can I say?  I do admit that a simple sweater would have been much easier...

Thanks everyone!
