When I went to pick up a bunch of glazed stuff, it turned out the oven had broken, so only a few things were done. Fortunately, one of them was this candlestick I made for my sister for Christmas.

Closeup of the little figures: It's her, her husband, their kids, and their two turtles. Smiley They all have their initials slip painted on, along with eyes and mouths.

I also made this votive holder. It was originally higher and shaped and fancy, and meant to be something else entirely, but it turned out it got a bit thinner up top than I'd intended, so I cut it off and did an experiment. The top shaping and windows are scalpelled, and the bricks scratched in. It's glazed pale gray.

Finally, two bowls. The smaller one is about three and a half inches high, the bigger is almost nine inches across.

I've gotten really into this color combo, of black and turquoise. It feels sort of 50s - the level of retro depends on the shape. The bigger one was pretty difficult to dip, which is why the line between the colors isn't as even as I might have wished. (The smaller one is intended to be glazed on a slant.) But a friend who saw it said "You made that? Really? It looks like something you would buy in a store!" which, as craftsters know, is a compliment from non-craftsters. Smiley

Yes, they're all wheel thrown.

The candlestick was made as one piece - except for the little people, obviously. The inside of the candle holder part is tapered, so that slightly different candles should fit.

Edited to add thanks for the comments and compliments, of course.
