Hey Hey!

So I made this for a Theatre Production of Hamletmachine.  Its designed by my good friend Emily as a way to torture me.

It's a Baroque marie antoinette-style Dress made from Tyvek (A.K.A FedEX bags).  It also has flowers around the neck made of Target shopping bags.  woo woo

It was my first big draping project (i'm a flat pattern kinda guy).  The panniers are made out of canvis and are about the size of toliet seats.  Which is kinda hystarical.

The dress also needed to open in the front instead of the back, because the actress is wearing a military camo uniform underneath.

I'm pretty proud of how this sucker turned out...  even if I was ready to kill Emily for having me make it.  And now, I would LOVE to sew with tyvek again!!  enjoy!

I for one can't believe that this is only your second project post!
Really looking forward to seeing more of what you can do - especially after this one. It's simply amazing - you'd never think it was made out of such an ordinary object.

Plus it's always awesome to find crafty guys on Craftster. It seems odd that they're so scarce :/

Did you also make the head piece?

And I agree with danigirl - it looks amazing on stage!

Ahhhh!  Thank you so much!  Yeah! I've been stalking Craftster for awhile and did my first posts today. It's great to get feedback from people! Craftster people are so freakin cool!

Yes, it looked pretty great on stage.  And no, I didn't make the head piece. The Designer (my bestfriend Emily) made it while she laughted at me sewing a paper bodice.  errrrr
