This piece was my waterloo. It's the top of the camera with some mechanisms attached that I simply couldn't remove. The clock mechanism doesn't allow space so it had to go. I tried an electric drill and pliers and finally a chisel, but only made a small bit of progress. Finally I gave up and cut a piece of one of those thin plastic cutting mats to fit, and glued black textured paper to match the camera. Finally I dug through my bag of random hardware and found a finial that passed as a button and glued it in place. I'll try to get better shots of the top and inside later, I've already wrapped it.

My Dad was actually able to pry off the gizmo using vice grips, so now it has the original top. Yay! So, if you find yourself in this predicament, get someone strong with vice grips!
