armwarmers, wristwarmers and an ornament

*phew* i FINALLY got my camera working again!  so here are some projects i've done, inspired by this lovely message board, of course...

green armwarmers

made these for my friend kat from two types of sock yarn i had around.  the second one started striping, which i totally wished happened in the first one.  *sigh*  o well.  

skully wrist/handwarmers

i started an intarsia/fairisle knitting class and was a big nerd about it so i practiced!  totally inspired by the skully wristwarmers here, i made mine because its damn cold in my basement office.

and lastly...

the most awesomest (and posted waaaaay too late, i know... but that's because i just found this website) christmas ornament in the whole entire world...

i totally forgot i did this project, but my friend reminded me with pics from her christmas party!  it was a tree trimming party, and i thought what better to represent me but making a smaller version of one of my favorite patterns?  last minute, i thought it would be awesome to stick someone's face in it so a friend found Jessica Simpson, pasted it onto some card stock, stuffed the finished hat with cotton balls and secured the pic in place!  definite scrap yarn project (which i posted asking about, duh) for next year!

Very nice!! I especially like the green ones. How did you do the thumbholes? Did you just leave a slit, or did you do a button hole?

the green ones were done on double pointed needles and knitted in the round.  i got to the point where i wanted the hole for the thumb, and instead of continuing in the circle i turned it over to start knitting flat.  knit flat for about 1.5 in, then continue to knit in the round until you reach the desired length.
