Christmas Dress, little coat and Kansashi Flower Headband for my Sweet Pea

Oh!  I had soooooo much fun making this for my wee girl. 

The fabric is a wrinkled silk.  I modified the pattern a wee bit and added a black sash and black band at the bottom.  I also simply used elastic thread in the neck and sleeves instead of doing the whole casing and elastic.  Wooh!  It was WAY faster!

The little coat is a velvet/suede-y like fabric.  And has a little crocheted trim on the sleeves and around the neck, front and back.

Her headband is the top of the thigh from a pair of 18-24 m(although next time I'll use a bigger size...these are a bit snug) tights (from the dollar store!)  And I finally tried one of the tutorials I found on here and made a Kansashi flower for the headband.  Wow!  I was surprised at how easy it was!





She's the sweetest thing, eh?  Don't ya just want to give her a big squeeze?!

eek! She's such a beautiful baby -diaper commercial-worthy cuteness. This dress is very professionally done. I always visit my parents' small town for holiday and I usually see a few kids in the same, generic outfits (omg, how embahrassing, right?). Your baby most certainly would be noticed.

Kymy---I didn't have to sew the headband together!  That's the beaty of it.  I simply cut the top part of the thigh out of a pair of tights.  Voila!  Headband.  Then I handsewed the flower to it.  Good luck!

I see that now, thats neat!!!  I have seen them in the pass where the use the leg of the tights & sew it together.  I like yours better, MUCH easier!
