Texting from a few feet away? For shame!

Ok, This is definitely due to be posted.
I made a Rocky Sock Monkey for my (now) fiancé in July. He had been gone for two years for a Church mission, and our only communication during that time was letter writing. So, I wanted to make him something he would like, but nothing too major in case things didn't work out:) Obviously, they did, and we are getting married May 17, 2008.

On to Rocky-
I machine stitched his body following this awesome tutorial, and I was definitely inspired by therealgigantor's Mr. T.
I knit his hat, just a 2x2 rib, and HAND-SEWED his clothing from a grey sock. I really wanted the sweatsuit, and it took me forever. There is an elastic band with a snap to fit it over his tail, although I never made any other clothes, so he doesn't change. One day I want to make his Converse too, and of course an Adrian as well.

Doing his sit-ups and lunges to get ready for the fight

Demonstrating his hood with working ties to keep his head warm

And, showing off his incredibly unflattering high-waisted sweats, and the tail snap

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed posing him for them!

Thanks everyone:)

I forgot to mention (but it's probably obvious) that I put wire in his arms, legs and tail to make him posable. I couldn't find a good tute on that though, and I just made a loop in the wire, sewed it to the end of the limb, and the arms and legs are a 'U' shape. The tail just hangs there though, and it bugs me that the wire slips around.

Any ideas? Any experience with this?Smiley

Thank you for the congrats! And yes...I definitely love his high-waisted sweats. Something about how nerdy it is, but how those are probably exactly like the ones Rocky wore:)
