Sorry all! I've been away for weeks, but I would love to get this together more. I think the resolution/significant happenings of 2007 would make a great January shrine!

Any ideas for further months?

February - A shrine to someone you love (Corny. But this could be a significant other, a family member, a musician, an artist... anyone you admire.)

I'll have to think about the others. A shrine to the seasons could work, but we all live in different parts of the world and in different climates, so that's tough.

Sure, the Feb theme sounds good. I've never make my bloke a shrine, but it could work if I make it music or guitar themed so it would fit into his 'bloke room'.

I've made my first shrine of the year! Grin Unfortunately, as it's for a swap I can't post pictures of it till it's received later this month. Undecided

I think one to the seasons sounds good or to nature period, you know.  Sounds like fun though, either way! Can't wait to start!    Grin   And wont the fact that we all live in different climates kind of make it more interesting though?  Huh I think so. Undecided

I have my theme and most of my materials collected for January.  Unfortunately I also have a bunch of other things taking priority right now.  BUT - January is definitely in work, if only in my head  Wink

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

So, is no one interested in this? Or should we just see how things go?

Firstly, greetings to all, especially the phabulous Phizzychick.  I've been busy and abroad, so you haven't heard much from me recently, but maybe I'll make a shrine or two this year - I do have a new flat to decorate, after all.

On the subject of themes, musicians and anniversarys, may I point out that January 27th is MOZART's birthday - and also Holocaust Memorial Day.  Either of those would make a great shrine subject, but I wouldn't try combining them!

Hello Stephen! Cheesy

I've still to create a shrine for the musical theme, I have it all planned out, but it's on my list of things to do and it's quite a lengthy list! Needs to be done before the 14th Feb too... Roll Eyes

Hopefully my swap package will arrive any day now so I can show some photo's of that one at least.

My swap package arrived so I can share photo's now. This is a shrine I made for The Mighty Boosh swap. It's a slightly silly but extremely cool UK comedy programme and the first series was set in a zoo, called the zooniverse. I made a little zooniverse...

Bollo the Gorilla, Naboo (the shamen in his camel gift stall selling pocket cups) and Charlie (the pink blob in the hat) are all characters from the series. Cheesy

I'm pleased to say that my first shrine of 2008 was a great success as she really liked it. Grin

that's so fun! i really like the depth of the paper i used - was it watercolour weight?

i've been planning a shrine, i just have to find the time to get cracking on it. i want to use a metal base, but i'm not sure what kind of glue, paint, etc would be best for the metal frame. i'm open to suggestions!
