I was thinking it would be fun to Shrine-a-long in 2008, so here it goes!

There will be a theme for every month of the year. I have yet to think up all the themes, but please make suggestions if you think something would be appropriate! We're trying to leave the themes as open ended as possible, so you can personalize your shrine as much as you want. Here are the themes so far:

January - Resolutions for 2008 or a significant happening in 2007
February - Shrine for or about someone/thing you love
March -
April -
May -
June -
July -
August -
September - Shrine for school or childhood
October -
November -
December -

Please don't think you have to shrine according to the theme! That's just there to provide inspiration, should you need it. Please post all your 2008 shrines!

Materials are completely open.

Join any time!

In the last thread we just pretty much worked at our own pace on whatever shrine we wanted and posted the completed items...I'm not saying that's how you should work this thread, though.

I think that would totally work as well. I thought it would be neat to see everyone jump off from a starting point and see how different the things that we come up with are.

I tend to either cram a lot of shrines together or none for a while. Depends which way the wind blows Cheesy

I like the theme idea though. Maybe you could suggest one theme a month and people could pick and choose if they want to contribute, or just add a shrine of their own theme into the mix...

Yeah - what they said  Wink

I liked the freeform way it was before - and I like the idea of a theme where people can join if they feel like it.  So - all shrine ideas seem to be good  Grin

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

Having never  done a shrine before but having always wanted to I rather like the idea of a structured shrine along. I do work better with a dealine and all BUT I also like the idea of contributing to the thread if/and/or when something strikes my fancy and I get it done.
My, what a dilemma.

Maybe two shrine-alongs?  Roll Eyes

I don't see anything wrong with both a "Themed Shrine-A-Long" and a "Freeform Shrine-A-Long" thread.

I like the title "Freeform Shrine-A-Long", it sounds sporty! Cheesy

I think both of them could work Smiley

For me, shrines tend to be more personal (unless I'm making them for someone else), so a set theme generally wouldn't apply...does anyone else feel that way? Just curious.
