The bags are so so lovely!
I love the combinations you used for the linings too!  Absolutely fab.

As for cables, it is so simple.  You don't even need a cable needle, just another knitting needle (I usually use another pair of circulars) and just twist the stitches.
I agree with everyone else who's said just take the plunge.  There are so many different types of cables and in so many variations, you'll find yourself doing them all the time!

OOOOOOOO {wipes drool} LOVE these!  I happen to have some purse handles JUST LIKE THAT!  I was considering doing a purse, but I cant find any patterns for the size needles I have (8 and 9) and I've not attempted cables yet, and I've also only done 6 knitting projects so far since I started learning in October...so with Christmas just a week away, I think this is something I may try to make for my mom on her birthday in January  or even as far back as Mother's day lol...

{{assuming my christmas wish list of a GC to the craft store to get more needle sizes is fulfilled!)

These are SO PRETTY!  Love them!!!  Wait, I already said that, hehe....

Thanks for showing them!

Those are gorgeous! I can't believe they took one night each to knit!  I want to try this out...if only I knew how to cable knit (adding that to my mental to do list).  Thanks for the inspiration! Grin

I got it at my LYS in POrtland Oregon
Someone made it up for a class and they gave me a copy of it before it was ready.  I don't know if it is a free pattern or for sale but it is copywrighted so i can't just give it to you even though it is SO easy I have it memorized.
it is by Sue Olsen and is called Seed Stitch Cable Purse.

Here is the website of the store I bought it at www.theknittingbee.com

Maybe you could e-mail and aske them where to score a copy?
