Zowie!   I love these purses.  They take about an evening to knit up and another evening to make and add the lining and handles.  I made one for my SIL one for my mom and one for ME!
all 3 together

My green purse with a temporary christmas ribbon and bell

and the mustang lining

The pattern is from my LYS.
Sue Olsen seed stictch cable purse.  I used Lion brand thick and quick and size 13 needles instead of 17s

My friend laughed at me when I told her I didn't think I was reaDy for cables yet.  She said it is so easy, after you learn you will want to put cables on everything".  And it is true.  I just figured out cableing in october and I am hooked!
So I advise you to take the plunge!

Haha, once I get all of my Christmas knitting finally over with, and once I attempt this entrelac scarf for one of those gifts, I'll be finding my little bum a tut and figure these cable things out Smiley

I just started cable knitting about 2 weeks ago.  It is totally easy.  I am in the middle of a cable knit sweater.  I've been looking for a great purse pattern so that I could make a gift for my sister.  I think this is the one.  I love the white w/ brown.  I think I will make one burnt orange b/c she goes to UT.
