If you have a Joanns near you the have magnetic snaps. They are wonderful. Joanns are the cheapest we have found. set of 6 for 2.99. They are the best easiest things I have ever installed.

i almost replied and said my joanns has them for half as much... they're only 1.49 and i was picturing the package in my head thinking there were 6, and then i remembered that's because there are two parts to each snap!  lol.  so i guess they're only a penny cheaper than your joanns.   Tongue

oh, oops, i also wanted to reply to the original poster!  lol.  i'm on a roll!   Roll Eyes

anyway... i enjoy magnetic snaps a lot.  you could also do buttons... put a button on the outside of one side of the purse, and then make a little loop on the other side to hook over it.  or a button/buttonhole combination.  there are also buckles, i know you can find those in the same place in joanns as the snaps.  i haven't tried these yet because then i think you'd need holes on the other side with metal rings around them for the buckle to go into... am i making sense?

you could also make ties... use ribbons or strips of fabric or yarn or whatever you like, attach them to each side so you can tie the purse closed... although that might become a pain after a while.

I just went to this little fabric shop in Calgary that was using buttons as a fastener on some of their bags. I thought that was a cute idea. http://www.calfast.com/
