Hello!
Okay here we go! I'm a 17 year old high school student and I am planning to go on foreign exchange for my senior year (I'm a junior presently.) I've taken five years of French and thus plan to go to France.
I have been accepted by AFS USA for the program already.
A huge issue is that it's going to cost a lot of money. I would love it if I could sell some crafts to raise money. (Total cost is around $10,000, i've applied for financial aid and an academic scholarship but there's no telling.)
On to the next problem. I need inexpensive, quick and very nice crafts to make.
I can sew, knit and crochet. I have access to laser jet and ink jet printers etc.
So, any other great ideas? Donations (money, supplies, ideas?)

Probaby to friends and on the internet.

Or I could be like Deb from Napoleon Dynamite and go door to door. Hehe...
No, but I'll probably set up a website and paypal...

I know this hasn't exactly been the most popular thread so far but oh well.
I have the website set up now but nothing but an index page.
I just got it up yesterday and I am accepting donations through paypal, if you're feeling particularly generous I would be eternally grateful for even a single dollar toward this dream. Or even a little support. You know some replies saying "good for you!" "go for it" "great idea" I really need some help because I'm feeling like it's never going to happen, even though I want it so badly.
the website is http://trescrafty.net
I'll be selling stuff I make as soon as I can set it all up (next week I think...)

Thanks!!

Good Luck!  That's so exciting!  I wish I had enough guts to do that kind of thing when I was in school.  I"ll check back to your site next week!  Cheesy

Yay!  Just want to say that I think you're AMAZING for doing this, and that it's really impressive.  I went to Italy in college (choosing to pay for it afterwards, i.e., right now) and it's worth it.  And I know it sounds cheesy, but if you've worked this hard to get there then you'll get more back from the experience than anyone who's mommy and daddy paid their way because you'll have that drive to see everything, do everything.  That's what counts.

Best of luck!  I'll look out for your site when it's up and running.

Much love,
Morgan

Thanks you guys! It really does help a lot to have encouragement. It's easy to get discouraged when you're working so hard for something.
