A Tale of Two Sweaters

so awhile ago i much wanted to knit this sweater:

it's the dollar and a half cardigan that was in the spring 2007 interweave knits.

so i ordered the yarn from knitpicks.  and it was ugly.  so i returned it and ordered different yarn. and then i knit it. and hooray for me and it's the first sweater i've EVER made... and low and behold... it was a little too small on me. 

SO... i gift it upon my younger much skinner than me sister.



and THEN i knitted it again for me.



and thus, there were then two sweaters, and it was good.

It's like it was meant to be.  They're both gorgeous.  Any chance of you knitting one too big?  I know somebody who could use one.

Oh, I love them both! You have so much patience to knit it not once but TWICE!  I love the green yarn though.  Then again...the brown is pretty on your sister.  Hmm.  I guess I'm trying to tell you that you should make me a green one like yours

I've never really been a fan of this sweater...until I saw both of yours!  They're beautiful.  And the two of you are beautiful.  I dunno, for some reason, this post just makes me insanely happy!

It looks really nice on both of you. It's so nice that you found a use for your first sweater. If my first sweater didn't fit I'd just be so miserable, I don't know if I'd be able to do the same sweater again to try and make it fit.

i forget to mention the part where I technically knit the sweater 2 1/2 times... after I finished the sleeves on the one in my size, they were too bulky for me.  so i frogged the ENTIRE sleeves, and re-knit them in the size i did for the original sweater.  oy.


oh, and the yarn is knitpicks' merino style, first in cinnamon and then in moss.


and yes my sister loves me to pieces.   i gave it to her for chanukah AND her birthday... which she totally understood cause she gets how long it takes to knit the damn thing.

Ahh I love them!! But i must say that green is stunning i want it want it!!!
