It isn't that often that I manage to take photos of things I make, but here is one! It's a baby hat shaped like the back half of a plucked chicken. It turned out a bit like a cartoon Viking hat, with drumsticks instead of horns.

The pattern is online for free (free as in beer AND mostly free as in speech).

Your chicken hat is so cool! I love it!

I have never seen anything like it... I love how the texture looks like plucked chicken skin, so weird (in a good way)! Cheesy

you are the coolest... That is AMAZING!!!

(I'm a vegetarian, so at first it turned me off, but then I remembered the childhood insult of 'What's up chicken butt?!" and it made me giggle with much glee.)

That's brilliant! It's not a million miles away from a hat I knit someone for Christmas, but that was a cat hat. Really well done, it looks great.

oh please tell me that you are willing to post direction for that "delicious" hat. I must make one for my daughter(2) and my sister (25) Ah, yes, a hat that spans the generation gap. I love I may make one for myself to. To wear while i cook. Such an awsome hat! I can't remeber the last time i got so excited about something.

I have a bunch of vintage linens for trade. Looking for neat halloween fabrics, day of the dead stuff, star wars stuff.

That is the most hilarious, amazing knitted object I've seen in a long while.  Having just prepared two roast chickens for Christmas this year, I'm intimately acquainted with that particular view of the chicken.
