Hey Guys- This is my Final Fantasy Black Mage quilt that I made for my husband for Christmas (also the one I was telling you about on the Mario Mushroom Quilt post). It is made from about 1,140 -2 inch blocks or 1.5 inch finished blocks.
It took a while to cut and make, but he's so worth it. The fire, has two shades of blue that you can see A LOT better in person, but I just couldn't get a great shot of it.
He has no idea so I'm very excited for him to open it Christmas morning.

Any Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Edit to add tutorial to main post:I really appreciate all of your comments on this quilt- and now my husband thinks it’s even cooler because so many other people think it rocks.
Since I've had a few requests for the pattern on this quilt, I thought I would add some-what of one for you guys who wanted it. I didn't have anything fancy at the time (like the EQ6 that I got from Santa...) so I made this in paint....But it works... Just pretend that all of the squares are the same size...because on this chart...I sucked and didn't make them that way (they're hand drawn on paint..what do you expect...right? heheee.
You'll need...(if you choose the same colors I did)
Fabric: 2 blue, black, 2 brown in colors of preference. In the REAL quilt, the two blues in the "fire" are a lot more noticeable in person than in pictures...
Border fabric (blue in my case)...background fabric (black in my case..)
I also made the back the same as the border fabric.
All of my squares were 1.5 inches around....and I used 1/4" seam allowance...so the finished blocks are an inch. There are...1,080 of those badboys in there...so if you make them too big your quilt will be HUGE. You can make them as big/small as you want...
Also-- the background in the "pattern" is cream colored- I used black on my real quilt….(you can do whatever..) I did it that way so I could count the blocks better since black would be hard to count/see...when I was making it.
I really don't have 'how much" fabric you would need because it depends on the size you make it (not to mention I always buy TOO much..) This is just a general idea for you all. If you have any questions, let me know. If you make this, let me know. I'd LOVEEEE to see it.
Stephanie
