So i bought some clear make your own Christmas ornaments for the dollar store and was trying to come up with something fun to do with them. This is what i came up with...it an ornament and a game.  How do you play this game you may ask Smiley well, i've buried several things under the glitter and sand...the object of the game is to find all the objects....I think i have something like 10 items or more in this ornament Smiley

will people turn the ornament upside down to find the things? it seems the sand might try to run away if anyone does, ornaments, as you know from doing this aren't sealed very tightly at the top

by the way, really cool idea! what kind of things do you have buried? I see an eraser and a couple beads?

This is a great idea! It would be fun to fill them with just plain glitter or fake snow, too!

good job!

i have it sealed on the top with tape so sand can't get out Smiley so far it has worked

i have an eraser, straight pen, safety pin, beads in several shapes, a button, a tack...and few other thing that honestly can't remember at the moment...although i do have them written down somewhere Smiley

cute idea.  This reminds of a similar, but different, ornament from a few years ago.  I saved some sand, shells and little souvenir doo-dabs from a beach vacation.  I put the sand and items in the ornament and wrote the year and beach location on the ornament.  The items need to be little.  One was a little folding type beach umbrella.  When folded, it just slid in the ornament and then it opened.

I'm terrible at posting photos and currently, I don't have my ornaments out of the attic.  sorry.

thanks. catdaddytn
