i have finally finished two paintings for my friend's Happy Moving In present. each of these paintings is 4' x 4', so they are rather large. as soon as they are hung up in their new home, i'm going to have to take some more photos of them. but i was super stoked at finishing them and i wanted to post some photos!

salvador dali, this is for their living room and apparently with the windows open it's large enought to see it driving down the street! :

birth of venus, this is in their bedroom:

this project has sparked many smaller projects.. one of eddie veder, kurt cobain, marilyn monroe, a bagpiper, and my dog! lots of projects in various states of completion.

let me know what you think!

i SO want to drive past their place and see dali's enormous face from the street!!

their dining room is a pumpkin spice orange color and he's done in sort of an espresso brown color, so when you drive by he's there in their house. it's really awesome. i'll have to photograph him from the street at night. she says he's kind of scary because he's so massive. their neighbors have been asking about it!  Shocked

they're great!

i dig your style, very groovy.  do you do a sort of grid/color map before you start painting?  and mark out the square shapes on canvas beforehand?
