i just bought a new digital camera (my christmas present to myself, lol), but the carrying case it came with is horrific.  i really want to make a cozy, but i don't knit at all and have very limited sewing abilities.  i was thinking about making one out of craft foam somehow, but i'm not sure how to go about it.  any tips or suggestions about what to make one out of or even how to spruce up the case i already have?

here's what i'm working with:

you could start with the top of a neat sock... i haven't done this yet, but have the lonely sock picked out.  I think I will cut the top off and sew the newly raw edge up then add some trimmings to the outside- oh and a little closure at the top. I have a cute striped sock with designs which lost its friend so i want to put it to good use.  depending on the sock, you could do any style you like, i think.
