This is my first posted project... I made this with my dad for my mom's birthday which is tomorrow.

the bracelet from the top

hinge on the bottom

and the necklace

It is an adaptation of a bracelet from lapidary journal... I can't remember which issue though.  What do you think?

Well I am very happy to say mom mom LOVED them both. (She opened them this morning...)  Smiley  Um.... the bracelet.... Well I got a lot of help from my Dad on it.  We basically took a piece of silver and shaped it around my sister's wrist. Then we started to pound it with a small hammmer to make it look kind of textured. Then we just did a lot of bending... I really don't know how to put this into words that wouldn't be confusing. We got a lot of help for the idea from an issue of Lapidary Journal though. But it was to make a bracelet with a hinge, but it was straight across and there was no swigle. I probably am confusing you...

ps.. I'm so glad you like it!!  Grin

Great work.

Hmmm I wish I knew where to get silver. I need new projects now that christmas is over and done with.

Don't you have to warm it up and stuff before the hammering starts?

When we made the both the bracelet and the necklace we didn't heat it up before we started to hammer. the silver was bendable... I don't know a whole lot about silver. I should probably ask my Dad. Sorry to sound so dumb. I'm also sorry it didn't explain how I made it very well.

*thanks for all the wonderful comments.
