I have been taking Sumi-e painting for about 6 years now.  I decided to try and use parts of them in collages with fabric and polyurethane (water-based) tinted with acrylic paint.
I like this process because it allows me to paint whatever I want, and then decide which parts I want to use...

The stuff towards the end of the album is actually what I started doing before trying the canvas...

Those are beautiful!  I love seeing simpler pieces; art doesn't have to be complicated to make an impact.

Oh, it's just kittens.

I want to leave this world the way I came into it:  naked, screaming, and covered in someone else's blood.

OOH!  I love sumi-e!  It's so elegant and simple and . . . "less is more" which is found so rarely in most western art.  Great job, so lovely!
