hello!

one of my best friends got married in september and i wanted to make her a special wedding present. so i started working on a painting for her. it was a landscape, and i had it almost done but just couldn't get it perfect. no matter what i did, i wasn't happy with it. so i ended up completely painting over it and starting again with a flower as my new subject. i *finally* finished it today. it's two months late...but i hope she likes it.

while i was trying to finish it, i looked forward to posting it on craftster and getting feedback Smiley
thanks for looking!!

love, petritent

3. here's this finished painting! i'm so relieved it's done Smiley

I love your finished piece, its totally reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe!  Your first landscape was very nice too, but I'm also of the mind when something doesn't feel quite "right" overpainting is in order.  I like the idea of other art underneath, must appeal to my many layers of collage mentality!  Your friend is very lucky to get such a gorgeous, personal wedding gift Smiley

I agree. The landscape was nice, but the close up of the flower has much more of a wow factor. It'll look stunning on your friends wall.

I love it!  Are you planning on showing your friend the before and after pics, so that she can see the "hidden" art?  Knowing that something completely different is hiding underneath would be pretty cool!  Along with knowing that you couldn't stand anything less than the best for her!
