Here's my version!  I used it in the challenge, but I felt like I needed to put it on here since I have been watching this thread so just to preface it, I used a yellow baby yarn and size 5 knitting needles.  This is my first completed knitting project, and hopefully my friend Charlotte will like this.

It was definitely a challenge in and of itself, but I'm onto other things... like a cable-knit scarf and a double-knit scarf too... I need to stop starting projects and finish the ones I'm working on now.

i finished mine and a long time ago, but forgot to take pictures before i gave it to my friend. Sad

however, i made modifications during the bind off to make both edges symmetrical.  pretty much, i continued the entrelac pattern as normal, but bound off the edges of the squares so that the whole edge was straight.  in the end, there was one stitch remaining so i picked up the rest of the stitches along the edge and continued with the decreases i needed to make the triangle.  i must say, the end result was extremely satisfying.

Here progress pics of my quant, I had to rip back a couple times because i forgot a side triangle but no big, once you know the pattern its pretty easy to go quickly

I'm using manos del uruguay #111, I love the colors and its really nice to knit up, not to scratchy for 100% wool.

I've just started mine. This will be the very first thing I've really knitted from a pattern. I'm not doing the knitty version...at least not yet. I have a "sampler???" started where I'm practicing different stitches, and I'm adding it to that. Once I get the hang of it, I'm going to make something for my mom and the quant (the narrower version) for me. I've learned a few things, and I'm kinda stuck. I've completed the first triangles and the second, but the very first row of the third section has me confused.... Anybody have progress pics??? ...help...
