This is my little crooked tree as ? I am not exactly feeling the Christmas spirit for the second year in a row .(usually I'm A Christmas Freak)
I put one up for my nieces and nephews they look forward to the cartoon  ornaments
Ive decided to let them each take there favorite home with them this year .

Ive collected most of them At the day after Christmas hallmark tag team wrestling matches  for years..
Those people are serious.. all the Christmas  peace is definitely gone by the time we line up  waiting for the gate to be raised .. anyhoo I'm done with that tradition to ..I finally realized the things I like the best are things we have made ...

I want to have a more understated sparse Christmas style for next year.

When I was a child, my mom used to say she always hoped to have all handmade ornaments on the tree.  Of course we know that wasn't completely possible because we had nice ones that were gifts, but we have always come close!

Kiwi-  I love the bird tree topper!

Here's what I've done so far on our mantle and tree.  Still hoping to add more to both when I get the time and motivation.

I like the way the ribbons on the packages make serene looking crosses.  It's very nice!

I've been following this thread for a while and I have to say that the craftiness of Craftsters just amazes me.

Now for my decor showcase!

This is the tree.  I got a fake one this year because we won't be here for the big day and we are moving to New Mexico next summer.  From what I hear, real trees are very expensive there because they have to be shipped from places like Oregon.  This one is a bit skinny-looking, but I like it.

Since there have also been cat-sharing photos, this is one of mine in his new favorite sleeping spot.

He's done really well not bothering the ornaments.  I wish I could say the same for my kids....

Here is my mantle.  I got the little snowman dude on the left in Germany and he is only a tad bit creepy (the stuffed lab is my husband's and is always in the living room anyway).  The stockings I got at the dollar store, but I hope to actually make some before next year.

I also posted a thread where I showed off some of the ornaments I made if you're interested: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=213929.0

my  mom has a tree just like that and has had it for years. We discovered that if you lay the garland in a long diagonal it makes the tree look better. Kinda from the top to the bottom with a diagonal slant- make sense?
