Post YOUR 2007 Winter Holiday DECOR Pics here!
Let's keep this thread PG rated, k?

I wanted to show my holiday corner of my home.  Lots of handmade things in here (by me, Grandma and even Grandpa!)

The Mantle:

I made the stockings, painted the 'tree' and the stocking holders
Flickr Link of Mantle for notes of what everything is...

The Tree:

I made the tree skirt (red cordoruy) and note the red wall, it was UGLY paneling, so I used upholstery tacks and a staple gun to cover it up with fabric! ($2 walmart sheets)
Flickr link of tree to see notes

Hope everyone else will post their pretty holiday decor too!

Yes, I posted the stockings last year, and the Santa jar is in the thread with my Mom's 1970's Wizard of Oz Bucilla ornaments. Smiley   Good memory Sweets!

here's my Tree:

and our fireplace:

and here are some of the decorations I have made over the years:

A bead bauble (one of two on the tree)

One of the five quilted decorations - these were pre-printed images that I padded and quilted

And my favorites on the tree - our Anniversary decorations. We got married in november (2 years ago) and I have decided to make a new decoaration for our tree each year based on the traditional anniversary gifts eg 1st year Paper, 2nd year Cotton etc (see here for more info)

So first I made these from the silver tissue paper that one of our wedding gifts was wrapped in (Im a good craftster...I hoard everything!) and a paper gift box. In the centers you can just make out the heart shaped glass ornaments I bought and suspended on silver cord. Our wedding was blue and silver themed (see here if interested):
the front

and the back of one:

This years anniversary (2nd) is 'Cotton' so I cheated and used scraps left over from my wedding outfit - see I hoard everything!- and a cotton backing to make this:

sorry it's a little dark  - but you get the idea. And this is the back which I embroidered with out initials:

Phew - sorry about the HUGE post - i kinda get carried away sometimes!  Grin  Happy Holidays everyone  Grin

This is our tree this year.
We had to put up "shatterproof" ornaments because of the new feline additions.
So we've got a lot of handmade ornaments (like the ones you made in elementary school.  Mom kept them all.) and bargain bin buys from Big Lots and Walmart.
Thanks for looking.

Very pretty!!

I really wanted to get a pink or white Christmas tree to put in our other living room, but have yet to convince my hubby of my evil plan.  Maybe next year. Cheesy

A pink tree would be awesome!
Maybe I'll convince my boyfriend to let me get one when I move in with him. >:]
Edit: "Baby, we're getting a pink christmas tree kthx." He said "sweet."
