It was so cute, I just couldn't resist - I made a second, in blue this time.  It was a great way to use up that old skein of yarn, but unfortunately I ran out of that size safety eyes, and couldn't find them ANYWHERE.  I seriously looked in 3 craft stores, but they no longer stock 8 mm black safety eyes!  The insanity!  Where does everyone else buy theirs?  I've only seen them on the internet now... and I'm not entirely sure the shipping is really worth it.

Anyway, that's why this guy has bigger eyes than the last.  I had no choice but to up-size to 12 mm.   Undecided

I saw the black safety eyes at hobby lobby and JoAnn (the big store one, not the little one).  You may want to try there.

This reminds me of my Pasha Pengu:

I knit him up with some random acrylics and mohair blends for my dad for this past Xmas. It was my first time doing short-row shaping. I sort of wish I'd picked a yarn for the main color that didn't show definition so well because of it. =P Otherwise, though, I'm pretty happy with the results. Oh-- I wound up using plain black 4 hole buttons for the eyes. (not pictured here, obviously.)

*waits for other people to show off their penguins*

here's mine.  i made him blue so he could be like chilly willy (who, i realize, is not originally blue, but is blue on the popsicle boxes they sell in my local walgreens)!!   Cheesy

Sometimes it's knit and sometimes it's crochet.

Oh well, it's only taken me 2 years to finally get around to making Pasha. The Happy Feet movie totally motivated me to get going on a penguin so I moved him/her up the project queue.

Pasha was so much easier to knit that I thought. I can imagine this one won't be alone for much longer.
