Yup - My wedding Limo was the Wienermobile!

ok---I'll admit, I've had this idea since the Game Board Revamp challenge---but I just started graduate school, and I've been totally busy.

But when I saw this challenge, I knew I had to get my butt in gear----and I did.  today.
I did this entire chair today.
I started with a chair that I found on the side of the road (on my way to the thrift store).  I can see why I found it there....lol.

But first, Here's the finished product (ignore the icky basement floor)

Here's the chair I started with:

And the eighteen inches of dust that came with it.....

What's that?  Yup--cobwebs....

But after some sanding, and mod podge-ing monopoly money, and painted the back legs, you get this:

Here's the front leg:

I actually had this fabric lying around----it's a pillow form.  I have about three more yard of it left too....lol.  It was just waiting for the perfect project like this!  I had to completly reconstruct the cushion with new foam--it was gross!

And the back of the chair:

It's late---I know these pictures are crappy---I did this entire chair in one day, so when I'm more awake tomorrow, I'll try to take better pictures.
Thanks for looking and remember to vote!

Thanks for the compliments guys!

I got the Monopoly fabric years and years ago, and I believe I got it at WalMart.  I thought I had a piece of fabric that was just scattered money (I think I bought it to back the pillows with).  I'm sure now that I'm done with the chair I'll find it....lol.
Maybe I'll make a pillow for the chair.

I like the idea of doing a different chair for different games.
The hardest part of this challenge was finding a used Monopoly game---I refused to buy a perfectly good new one.
I came across plenty of other games that would make good chairs, but since I had the Monopoly fabric, I just had to find the game.

Best recon chair I have seen! I too have a bunch of the Monopoly fabric that I purchased at Wally world a long time ago. If someone is still looking for some, I would suggest that they search on ebay.
I could see making more chairs  based on different games. Just scan the board, box, etc., and print your own fabric on fabric photo transfer sheets. These could be cut into squares and made into patchwork fabric for the seat cushion.

lol...not yet----I don't have any money!  Haha.  I still have the community chest cards and a few deed cards as well as the playing pieces and houses (the set I got was incomplete, that's why there's no 1 dollar bills and only a few deed cards).   I'm debating still if I should attach the playing pieces and houses somewhere.....maybe along the top of the chair or something.

And I'm taking all of your suggestions, I think I may make a complete set---my eyes are peeled every time I go to a thrift store for a new game to decoupage.

Thanks for all of your wonderful comments!

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

How cute is that!  If it hasn't been said already...  having 3 more chairs in a different game board would be way cute around a games table...

Oh my! This is fantastic. A set of four chairs around a monopoly table might be in my future. This came out so cute, and professional!
