About three years ago i took a class from Kelly Barham ,she's an amazing mixed media artist . Only recently have I started to work on these again.

They're great for people like me who suck at bead weaving .

Whoa!  I feel all excited about those, but am kind of speechless.  What are the 2 bird-themed pieces made of?  They look like porcelain.

How fun and original! I love the very last one...can you give any tips on how someone would get started in doing something like this (for instance, what materials are helpful to have on hand)? They're beautiful!

Basicly you bend wire ito the shape you want. Then you take a yarn slightly thicker than worsted . I use lionbrand landscapes . and using a little glue wrap the entire form. After that you just bead.

The  bird cabochons came from trip the Archie McPhee store ! And the greyhound is shrink plastic.

I really like this! I've been into the whole mixed media as of late ... which is a good thing as I've accumulated a crap ton of odds 'n ends. I want to try this! (probably won't turn out quite as lovely, though) Cheesy
