When the weatherman said there was snow looming for the NE, I knew I had to find the warmest thing I could think of to put on my head and neck. No more suffering with cold ears for me! So I decided to knit the better part of an alpaca and put it on top of my head.

Here is the Nomad Hat from IK Fall 07 in Misti Baby Alpaca Chunky, Color 620. I used the same needles recommended in the pattern, and decided to add a little flare with some pom poms on the end (Made 15 chain stitches with a J hook then attached 1 inch pompoms). It knits up really quick and it's SUPER warm. My ears are happy now, even if I do look a little strange when the scarf is all done up (like a ninja).

I haven't seen any other Nomad Hats on here yet, could it be that this is the first?

Your hat looks really nice...and really warm.  I have that magazine and have looked at that hat pattern quite a few times trying to decide when I can squeeze it in...between these other things I have going on my needles.  Need to knit faster lol

So cute with pompoms!! It looks great.

If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me.

The northern downpour sends its love.
