Flannel to babydoll top

So when my friend and I heard about this challenge we went to the thrift store and found this flannel shirt


We figured it was pretty ugly so I bought it.  I think it was like, 2 dollars.

Now it's this...


There are a few pintucks under the band, they're kinda hard to see though.

I actually almost bought a top kind of like that from delias (I think) but I did't want to spend $29.50 on it.

OoooooOOOoooh!  So cute!  The empire waist is so flattering to the bust and tummy.  (Not that a tiny girl like you needs it, I was thinking of my own ehem... generous proportions.)  It looks great and the dark colors make a summer-style top fall/winter friendly.

Did you use buttons or a zipper in the back or sides?  Or is it a pullover that gets cinched with the button at the waist?

If you made this without buttons or a zipper, you will be my new hero, because only somewhat fitted things are flattering on me - yet I still lack the seamstress skills to construct zippers and button plackets.

Actually there are not zippers or buttons.  It's a pullover that's a little looser in the back.  The button on the waist is just kinda there, I thought it looked pretty
