I'm knitting a print o' the wave (picture on my ravelry, here), but I want to knit an entirely different edging. If I were to do a basic garter egde for 5 or so rows around my rectangle, how would I do the increases to have nice corners (I don't care round or right angles)?

Don't hold me to this, but I believe you would do an k-inc-k1-inc-k on each corner every other row.

For a crisp corner, continue that increasing even on the cast-off row.
