Here is a bag I made for the Christmas Stocking Swap for The Jenya. I started w/ a scrap of green cordery from my local Goodwill store. The belt is also from Goodwill. I used a pattern for a sling bag for the shell of the purse. The lining is a scrap of flannel & had around the house.

For the inside pocket I used the front pocket from a pair of black cordery pants that were handed down to me from a friend.

And the best part is the bottem of the purse in which I used the back pocket from black cordery pants. I left the tag intact & the pocket is still functional.

Pretty dang cool I think.

The belt strap is a good idea. I love that interior fabric!

i love love love corduroy, and this purse is wonderful.  i'm still trying to get the guts to cut up my old cords, i'm just afraid there'll be a chance that i'll fit into them again.  but at least this awesome purse fits all sizes...

I really like that, I just found an old pair of White Corduroy pants that were my mom's in the 70's and it's nice to see the fabric as a purse.  I love the belt as the strap as well, very clever.

I used a leather sewing needle for my machine. Purchased at JoAnns Fabrics in the notions section. I would use this needle in the future if I ever had to sew layers of denim -- it is awesome!! (They come in a pack of like 4 or something)
