29 new diaper covers! :)

I just finished 14 small, 14 medium, and one large diaper cover.  Whew.

I worked on them yesterday while dh watched the kids for a couple hours, then into the wee hours of the morning this morning and then just finished putting the last snap on a few minutes ago.  Whew!  I am one tired pregnant mommy!



The single large diaper cover was from a cut I received from a coop and wasn't large enough to make 2 covers, so the boys will have to fight over it, lol. 

The FOE is all from thisendup.  The 28 small and medium is all sandwich pul from lovinbundles.

My next kidlet should now have enough diaper covers.    (next kidlet when s/he grows will use the large diaper covers already in circulation on my 2 kids now.) 

Don't they look cool???  I really like the yellow/green combo A LOT!

I admire you young mothers so much. My first used cloth, that was 1969, but then we used dis. for next three. Glad to see people are getting greener. You not only did alot of work, they look really well done.
Just curious, it says covers, so how do thye work?

as for how they work, I personally prefer fitted diapers and prefolds under the diaper covers.  (diaper covers are waterproof barrier.)  I am in process of making 24 more small fitted diapers and 36 medium fitted diapers.  (as in, I have the materials, but need to get cutitng and sewing, lol.)

a close up of 3 of them (yes, that's BROCADE fabric!  *loveeyes*) (I did put an extra full body of flannel behind the brocade in the event the brocade does not hold up long term, so the diapers will still be very practical and usable.)

here are 3 diaper covers i made recently - these are size large - 2 are for my kids in diapers, one is for a friend who loved the fabric. 


oh and some of my prefolds - I tie dyed them a couple years ago - they STILL look this great!!!    I also added snaps to them so they are more like a fitted with ease of use.

The kids I babysit use cloth nappies (diapers for you americans!!) inside covers and these ones are SOO much cooler than theirs which are shop brought!!

Oh, I am so so impressed!! I used cloth diapers for my bunch, but with (ick ick) plastic pants and honking big pins. Wish I could get a do-over. (they're all grown up now )  But there's always hope for grandbabies!!  And they'll wear these if I have any say in the matter!
BTW, a lot of my old cloth diapers are STILL in service here as dusters and cleaning rags. When they get totally tattered, they get used for car work.
