Just wanted to share my excitement  Grin

A few weeks ago, I saw that my local craft store (Pat Catan's, for those who know it) was having an ornament contest.  You could enter as many times as you wanted, and all of the ornaments would be donated to families in need in my area.  What the hey, I thought...it's for a good cause, and it might put me in a Christmas-y mood.  Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call saying I had won 3rd place!

Here is the ornament:

It's my take on the Jingle Bell Buns ornaments on the WeeWonderfuls site.  I painted her a little differently, and instead of tying a string through the buns I inserted a jewel pin with a bead up through the center and attached a ring.  I really want to make some more to give away as gifts, but I need to pick up some more supplies.  Luckily, I now have a $10 gift certificate to spend on crafty things (that was my prize  Smiley)!

I entered this one too:

It's a milkweed pod that I started to paint to look like Santa, but he started to look like a gnome so I left him that way.  He didn't win anything, but I still think he's cute  Wink

Love it! I saw these early in the day on a website and they were selling for like 4.99 or something and I was like "oh I can totally make that.", Seeing yours makes me want to run out to the store right now. But alas I cannot becasue I am broke until Thursday. BLAH I could always use the credit card. LOL

Thanks!  A piece of advice if you do end up making them...don't use hot glue!  I couldn't get the buns to stay with hot glue. I switched to jewel and glass glue and it worked like a charm.

Hey, this looks slightly familiar!  Cheesy

I love my blonde choir girl. She's in my cubicle and has received lots of compliments from my coworkers. Thanks again!
