Reality Bites, I have the teeth marks to prove it

Here is one of my latest completed projects. We came upon an old storage ottoman that had been in the family FOREVER. I was instructed not to throw it out, to keep it for sentimental reasons. But, I was NOT given any boundaries as far as what I could do with it. Therefor, BANG, my very own One Eyed Flying Purple People Eater. I skipped on the "One Horn" thing for now. Being a typical guy, I only had horn idea in my head and I don't think the rating on this site would approve. lol. I stripped everything down to the bare bones of the old ottoman. Covered it with thick batting, purple fur, and felt face and wings. The jiggle eyeball gives it that crazy look. I added 5 non-marring wheels to the bottom, so as to not scuff up my new wood floor. And the long pegs on the inside of the lid keep the lid from moving around when being used as seating. Now, lets see just how much trouble I get into from the family once they see it. Keep your fingers crossed. lol

That's awesome!

You should enter it into the craftster challenge #23 - "Super ugly to Super Awesome!" This project definitely falls into that category!

Here's the link:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=377.0

But the prize is yarn, so maybe if you're not really interested in winning yarn maybe you shouldn't enter in order to give the other contestants who really want to win yarn a better chance at winning it.

I'm sorry - That seemed rude. You should enter if you want to no matter what!

That's funny-- I actually clicked on the picture in 'new projects' because I was like, 'What IS that?" about how it was before.  Dunno that I'd feel totally comfortable in a room with this creature, though  Wink  Are you entering this in the Challenge?    <-- Now I see that someone just asked you that.

WOW. Didn't expect this much support and admiration with this project. Thanks to everyone. I reposted in the contest, since I'm not sure how to "move" the topic. Anyway, wish me luck. If I win, I will donate the goodies to someone who can use it. So wish me luck and thanks again. And don't worry, more projects are on the way.

This is amazing!  I don't think I could ever use it as an ottoman in fear of getting it dirty or something...but maybe put it in ones window to greet the neighbors as they pass by.
