This maybe a different take on the definition of "ugly", but it is my interpretation.

My hubby gave me this months ago, and told me to make something with it. It's been waiting for the right inspiration, and this is it before.

A full metal ammo can that held .45 ACP bullets. (Now that to me is ugly since I hate guns.)






Mission to mosaic and make it beautiful.

The inside is where I wanted to add something different. First it was painted an irredescent pink, then glitter was placed about an inch deep on the bottom and resin poured to seal it. Then I painted "Try to see beauty in all things", and added the ceramic butterfly.

Once the whole piece was mosaiced, I then painted excess green areas and sealed the whole thing with 2 coats of Polycrylic. Here are the finished pictures.

**PS - Funny side not...when my hubby saw what I was doing he replied: "No, it's an ammo can. You don't put flowers and pink on an ammo can."

Wow this is a great transformation. I like the pinkish grout, and the flowers are so cute! Your husband is funny, you can put flowers and pink on anything!

Someone suggestions a tool box as the use, but I'm not sure what I want to use it for yet.

Think I'm going to use as a file holder for paper that I use in crafting. It is pretty air and water tight so no worries on paper getting damaged.
