This was my first attempt at sewing in 3-dimensions.  I'm more of a quilter, but my cuteoverload.com reading has made me want to make a bunny.  Here is a link to the ugly $5.49 maroon fleece shirt becoming a bunny:

Did anyone else have a security blanket growing up that had a silky edge?  I had to use the satiny parts of the shirt to make silky hands and ears for the bunny!  The ears were the collar of the shirt, the arms were cut from the back and yoke of the shirt, and all the other parts were cut from the remaining fabric.

I didn't follow a pattern per se, but I did look at a couple of websites on making stuffed animals for order-of-operations on sewing on the limbs.  I ended up sewing the body all around except for holes for ears and limbs, and then attaching them.  I had a hard time getting the little inside-out body around my sewing machine!

Oooh.. the ears are genius!  I would have never imagined that little guy from that ugly shirt.  Such a great job!

Very cute!! It looks like a really comfy stuffie to just cuddle up to at night or just watching tv on the couch! I would never think about making a toy from a shirt.
