So I woke up this morning to find that it's snowing in Harlem.
Not like it's never snowed in Harlem before, it's just that Fall came and went in a minute.  Anyhow, it's definitely the holiday season and I have finished a bunch of Hanukkah gifts.

I designed this bias cable and lace wrap for my mom's cousin, who is allergic to wool and is travelling to Budepest in the spring.  I figure that it'll still be chilly there.  It took 5 hanks of Blue Sky Cotton (color - Thistle)  By far, one of the most expensive things I've knit.  I hope she likes.

My mom is a sock fiend, and she especially hates socks that have seams across the toes.  They blister her feet.  She has become a fan of knitted socks and it's been a couple years since I made her some

Retro Rib Socks from Interweave Knits - Patons Kroy Sock Yarn (2 balls)

Stockinette sock in Opal Crazy.  They are finished, but they're too small for me to wear.  Which worries me they may be a smidgen too small for her. .  But we'll keep our fingers crossed.

And I have only finished one Spiral Boot Sock from Interweave in Opal Caterpillar.  I'm not crazy about how it fits, but that's probably my fault since I used a different needle size, because I only had four of the recommended needle size and this pattern REALLY does require the five that it suggests.  These will be for me.

I love love love the bias cable wrap! It's so gorgeous! Will you be writing up a pattern? I can see that giving my clapotis a run for it's money!

You make beautiful socks! The spiral boot socks are fab. Too bad on the fit - I'd be happy to wear them for you!

The cable wrap is gorgeous.

I love all the socks, but the spiral boot sock is probably my favorite. Those socks look really warm. Wish it was snowing here...

That wrap is absolutely gorgeous!  I love it!   The socks are wonderful, too.  I have like 5 started socks....by the time I get back to them I forget where I am in the pattern!

Thanks everyone - you never know what people will think!

btw, how do you make cables on the bias?

The premise was the same as Clapotis from Knitty.
I'm definitely considering writing up a pattern once I've worked out the kinks.  I will keep you posted!!

Your shawl is beautiful.  Not a chance your lucky relation won't like it!  Great job on the socks.  I love the opal caterpillar yarn!

That's a great view. Where in Harlem do you live? I lived in Hamilton Heights practically all my life. Now I live in LES. It looks like Pitt Street on the Lower East Side.

BTW, I love the last pair of socks. Where did you get the yarn?
