That is AWESOME! I love the way the skirt flares at the bottom. The colors just flash, too. Beautiful dress, that's for sure. I'm totally inspired!

ETA: Could you possibly share how you did the shaping? If I were to do this, I have loads of curves and I'd need to work with that.

i don't think i'll be able to really write up a pattern, but in january (after all the crafty xmas gifts are done) i'll be able to do a write up of how I went about constructing it.  I did start with a pattern, but ended up free forming it most of the way.  The nice thing about the bigger stitch is that it stretched around my body well so i didn't have to worry about shape as much as i thought.  I've had a few questions on how long it took to make...... the cuting of the strips probably took a few hours, and the sewing of the other pieces andother few hours.  The crochet part was the quickest and most enjoyable part, so i'd say in total about 8-10 hours.

Wow, that came out really gorgeous!  I think my favorite part is the way that the skirt bells out at the bottom.
You know, though, when the dude and I first looked at it, we couldn't decide if it was that the dress was so awesome on its own, or if it was the fact that there's a pretty girl with tattoos wearing it that really makes the look Smiley

that enormous crochet hook is my favorite. it's what i use with yarn that gives me a hard time- i.e.-boucle. love your shoes in your first picture with it. very cute. I like how hole-y it is. that's how my boucle blanket turned out. very hole-y.
