From UCK & Yuck - to His and Hers
«

UGLY - define ugly please, I had so much trouble defining this word. Because when I look at something I see what potential it has and how great it will look when I have finished playing with it, and then it doesn't look ugly to me
Oh Well onto the pics. I spent $15- on my two items and rid myself of sooooo much fabric from my stash that I think I am hooked on this kind of makeover. This was my
inspiration
From Yuck to Hers - ugly brown paint and horrible tapestry fabric, and hard as a rock but her bones where nice. A bit of sandpaper, a lick of paint and a new dress and lots of extra padding and I have a chair that is fitting for sitting on.
Before
After
Uck to His - Firstly let me say that my hubby has not a crafty bone in his body and his general reaction to anything I make is usually - It's OK - but after seeing my chair he wanted to now where his one was. Another trip to the op-shop to pick up this ucky dirty thing, lots more fabric cutting and a bit of paint and he was a very happy man with alot more to say
. This chair was to big to fit in the sewing room so I had to make numerous trips to the garage in 35 degree heat. My husband supports Collingwood Football Club and their colours are black and white so I was fortunate that most of the fabric in this chair came from the tip (where I work) because I didn't have alot of that in my stash. So much swearing (it's real heavy) and sweating later we had this.

These are amazing - now I have inspiration for the Goodwill chair I've been planning on re-upholstering for the past *mumble mumble* years.

It is a good thing you posted the BEFORE pics--hard to believe the dramatic change! You sure have vision...your chair was a swan in hiding...you picked beautiful, bright, happy colors and now have something to enjoy for years!
Hubby's chair looks comfy--and I think that is all men really want...so the fact that it is also good-looking is a bonus!
Fabulous

Both of those turned out fabulous! I esp love the black paint on the red fabric chair... it gives the fabric that extra pop!
