you should check out the huge thread in "What the heck can I do with this?!"
there are some other dresses and skirts and I think a few other ideas with ties.

Very nice! I like how the dress is all darker colored ties and the one used as straps is lighter. It looks really cute on you.

I love the dress! I have a question for you.  Did you line the inside with anything, or just leave it as is? I am working on a skirt, and the inside is getting to be a little bulky.  I can't decide if I should line it or just leave it.

This is so fabulous. We used to make skirts like this in the 70's but I really love the dress idea. Good for you for getting permission from your dad. My first recon (in 1973) was a sweater I found in my dad's drawer. It turned out really cute but I later found out that he had bought it in Germany (we lived in California) before I was born...ooop!

Super cute!!! I love the last pic too! I have wanted to make a te skirt and a few months ago I started a tie curtain, but didn't get very far on it. Very nice and looks so cute on you!
