I've been making so many slouchy berets that I'm sick of it! I wanted to make a baggy one that would keep my ears warm and i actually succeeded. i used homespun and it only took a few hours, i was impressed, I'm now addicted to this yarn. Here are my macbook taken pictures.. so sorry about the qualities and the non contrasting background!

And now for the pattern..
I've never written down any of my patterns before so I'm sorry for any confusions.  It is a pretty strait forward hat not increases or decreases after the first few rows.  I would recommend this for beginners.

I used Homespun yarn by Lion brand and a size J hook.

Start by making 5 ch and ss to form ring

row 1: 9 dc in ring.  join.
row 2: 2 dc in every st.  join.
row 3: 2 dc in every st. join.
row 4: *1 dc, 2 dc*. join.
row 5: 1 dc in every stitch. join.
---(I then repeated row 5 11 times and repeated it 4 more rows in the green yarn and once more back in the yellow making.. so row 5 basically goes for rows 5-21)
-- you can also make your hat longer or shorter depending on how many times you repeat row 5
row 22: 1 sc in every stitch. join.

Very cute!  Just the right amount of slouch.  I love slouchy hats, especially the ones in Japanese crochet and knitting books, but mine turn out all weird and baggy.

Lovely hat! Great job!

I too am totally upset that they are taking the servers down to fix things. Why can't they just let things stay broken? I don't care if I can't move due to lag or if quests are bugged. If I leave my room my mom may make me get a job.

I like this quite a bit.  Good color choice.  I like the slouchy-non-beret-ness.

ZOMG! I love it so much! Do you ever think you'll share how you made this delicious goodness? I was watching Elf today, and at the end of the movie when Zooey Deschanel is singing she's wearing a white hat and it reminds me of your hat you've made with a poof ball at the end. I loaf your hat!
