At least its almost January.  Smiley

Gorgeous roving!  Note to self, you DO NOT have time to learn a new craft!

Anyway, I received today from la_chrystelle.  Six business days for a package from the Netherlands!  Six!!  Canada Post can't get a package to the city in that amount of time.  Perhaps I should move.  In any case, my pillow covers are absolutely perfect and I will attempt to take a picture that will do justice to them, as soon as I find my pillow forms.  Thanks so much Saskia, they are gorgeous!

Annchen claimed me for an intro to sock knitting - some helpful hints and tips, a way to design your own sock pattern custom to the size of your feet, some amazing sock yarn, and stitch markers, made by her sister.

And as of this morning, all my knitting projects are done, so i can finally start - i've always had it in my head that socks are too hard, and i can't make 'em.

i know, really dumb.

so i'm going to start socks today - and here's this amazing, self-striping, self-patterning yarn that Ann sent me - these are going to be so fun!

And a close up of the stitch markers, though i wish it was a sharper picture - stitch markers were made by Ann's sister, and i love them - i love the colors and the beads she used!

Ann, thank you so much, and my thanks to your sister - i'm finally going to cast on and make socks!!  WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I received some great soaps from Dulcinea!!

From left to right she sent me peppermint (there is just something about using peppermint soap at christmas time!!!  I love it!!), oatmeal in the middle and even though it looks like a bit fattening block of fudge (I did have to warn my youngest that it wasnt and he was welcomed to find out for himself if he didnt believe me lol) chocolate soap!!  Just when my candy monster thought he had seen it all.  He LOVES the idea of bathing in chocolate lol

They do look good enough to eat though dont they!?!

The only hard part about showers now is what bar to try next lol !!
Thank you very much!!

These look great Dulcinea! I think you could totally sell them!

Frosty--I once *jokingly* told my younger brother that I was making frosting and dipped a spoon in it and held it out to him...he really did taste it before I could say, "Wait! Just kidding, it's whipped bath butter!" Funny, but he won't try anything now without me promising that it's food!

LOL, thanks, Mare - for now, I'll settle for making them for swaps and xmas gifts (i'm going to have an extremely clean family by the time all the packages get to their destinations)

ok, this is too cool.  those of you who know me know that i can knit pretty much anything.

except socks.  i've had this really stupid phobia about knitting socks.

then Annchen sent me just the push I needed to try it - she sent me this amazing self-patterning yarn, and enough instructions to give me the courage to try it.

so now, I present my very first pair of socks that I made myself!

Ann, thank you so much!  without you, i'd still be scared of knitting socks!

We start to understand why my boss wants me credentialed as his Quality Assurance Software Engineer   Grin

Actually, I was pretty pleased that I got the socks to match up as well as they do.
