lily spoiled me.  she spoiled me bad.  see, she took pity on my ignorance about how one goes about making yarn, and claimed me for a how to spin kit....

she got me a book - had to order it, it got here one day.

ok, looks like a good book.

next day, i get a box with a spindle and roving... and OMG what roving!!  It's beautiful, it's soft (i keep touching it), and i AM going to figure out how one does this!  with all the knitting I do, this is going to be dangerous!!

Lily, thank you so much!!  I'm a little afraid to dig right in, but i'm going to overcome my fears, and learn this one!!

You are SO welcome! Like I said before, I can't wait to see the yarn you make. Good luck! Smiley

Thanks!  I had taken my daughter to a woman who taught her how to use a spindle, but it was the reverse of the one you sent me - and I was gratified to see that the spindle you sent me matches the style and technique they show in the book you sent - so between what I remember from the spinner, and the book, I'm ready to roll (once i finish up the last couple of last xmas presents that need to be sent out or delivered, that is)

I LOVE the roving - the colors are amazing!

I received some embroidery floss from CrossStitchinMomma yesterday. The colors are so pretty! I've been looking for a good pattern to use these for, I'm thinking something asian. Here they are:

Thanks again CrossStitchinMomma, I love them! Smiley

The super-generous ThreadOrYarn claimed me for curved basting pins (haven't been able to find them here in the UK and by all accounts they're a quilter's dream) AND she sent me the fantastic Kwik Klip tool I'd wisted after seeing it on a US website (this stops you getting sore, blistered fingers when pinning, yay!)

Thank you for a fab package that will be of great use with my xmas crafting Lillian! Kiss

A lovely birthday card -

and this flower pin -

which is actually a teal-y blue, not the navy that showed up (the pin is wonderful, the picture isn't  Cheesy )

I got my package from la_chrystelle yesterday, just in time before I leave for Christmas. I got four hair clips I've been trying out, a bag of hama beads and a bag of little things perfect for a magic yarn ball. I had to send out the wrapped magic yarn ball yesterday, but this means I get to make another one Grin Oh, nearly forgot, I got some more kool-aid from her too! (I might need it more than I thought since one of my friends is crazy enough to want to drink the stuff... But I've managed to save my precious kool-aid so far.)

I'm taking the hair clips with me, but I've already packed my camera (somewhere...) so I'll try to take photos, post and upload them from my parents place. So... You'll possibly get decent looking action shots since my mother and sister are better photograps than me.

My yarn enabler Dulcinea sent me a great bare yarn package!

Count 'em -- two skeins of worsted weight and one skein of sock yarn! Mama is going to have some warm hands and some warm feet when I get through with these!

Thanks, Dulcinea! You are, of course, the unopposed best. Smiley
