Hi, I'm Jana. I'm from Los Angeles. This is my second claim, 0 sent, 0 received.

-Anything from my ever growing wists list.
http://www.wists.com/simplyfussfree

-Big wish Handmade brown bear for my mom for one of her Christmas gifts

-Another big wish Something crafted of one of the following themes for my boyfriend ( ideas: a guitar strap, a shirt, a sweatband, he oddly wants a decorated lampshade, a small oil or acrylic painting or anything else really ). I told him someone ( Calluna ) crafted something for my sister and he got jealous. :
chemistry
ecology
Zelda
survival type stuff ( like in the wild or whatever )
Lord of the Rings ( not the film )
chess ( a handmade board of some sort? )
Lone Wolf adventure books
running
guitar
Super Mario
oud ( old Middle Eastern instrument )

-A knit hat for my boyfriend. He has a fairly long head so not too short. Olivey green, brown, or black would be good. Maybe a solid color with a stripe. Anything really, as long as it's masculine looking.

-Crafted item on one of the follwing themes. I prefer realistic looking things to more kiddie-ish. Anything with corduroy is always good. Green and brown are always good too. Bags are always lovely, handmade books, shirts, small paintings made by you, are great. As are other things:
Russia
Nesting dolls ( more traditional than childish preferred )
Romania
Poland
A free Palestine
Ferns
The Forest
Trees
Hieronymus Bosch ( I can't spell for beans )

crochet:

-I would love, love, love a lined granny square purse like this: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=6902891. Navy and white

sewing:

-I love this bag. I'd especially love it if I could choose out fabric and mail it to you or if k8kr8s wanted to make me another in the same fabric as the first because I love it so much.  http://henriettashandbags.com/black_forest_purse_pattern.html Yay!

-A solid black wrap dress ( size 12 ). Or one in an apple fabric that I have and could send you. I have a wonderful dress from Alwaysinmyroom but am starting to wear dresses and skirts more and could always use more.

-A brown corderoy bag, preferrably fairly large as I carry loads of stuff most of the time

knitting:

-black, navy, or white gloves.

-black, white, or navy mittens http://vintagestitchorama.blogspot.com/2006/08/frankenmitts_19.html i really, really want these.

-The eyelet skirt from Knitty on my Wists. I wanted to put it here as it wouldn't let me add any information. I'd like it in green, navy, or black. I'm a M/L or size 12.

-http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall02/PATTbroadstreet.html In black or white please. I can't tell if it has one but if not, if you add a little button to hold them back when I'm letting my fingers be all free and whatnot, I will be your bestest friend...or something.

-The last socks on this page:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=135934.0

-A black cardigan ( slightly long ), I'm not counting on this one but it's a wish list so I thought I'd list it. Or an avacado-ey green one. I think there's one on my Wists.

-Lined Isabeau tote in navy or black

To anyone who chooses to craft for me, thanks loads in advance!

About me: My name is Jana, I'm 27 years old. I just got back from travelling around the Middle East for a bit and am now back in school ( studying anthropology ). I like greens <3 ( foresty/avacado-y ), and browns. I like corduroy and patchwork. I'm in love travelling and am obsessed with Romania, Russia, and Poland. I like forest themed things, Hansel and Gretal, things with trees on them, birds, ferns, bikes, and nesting dolls, Heronymus Bosch. My favorite bands are the Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Portishead, Pulp, Arctic Monkeys, and loads more. My boyfriend lives in England so I travel there a lot. I don't like: metallics, fun fur, yarn with a sheen ( like simplysoft ), when people clip their nails around me, and when people clap at the end of movies.

Mittens!
Really any knitted or crochet cozy mittens would be amazing. I really love wool too!

The photos arent there anymore but they also had teen girl squad embroidered on them. I could do without the embroidery but mittens that look like paper!? Rad.

The franken mittens are also wicked since usually mittens means not being able to get money out of your pocket or answer your cell phone etc etc...

Learn German Kit!
The boy and I are taking a German class in the evenings and I wont name names but one of us is having a little trouble. I think that hearing spoken German really helps a lot. I was even thinking maybe some really basic kids books in German. Dick and Jane or See Spot Run style. Maybe a kids DVD or even just packages of candy with German words on them. Bribery with candy always seems to go over well. Ill take anything that might help us along.

If you or someone you know is into design I would love an image of a dinosaur riding a bike that I could put on a t-shirt. If I can be specific here, a ROAD bike!

A full length retro style apron. I love 50s style anything!
Whenever I cook I get gunk ALL OVER MYSELF!
http://www.wishingfish.com/hostaprons.html
Any on Wishing Fish are waay cute!

Bath Stuff
I have this bath salt that totally unclogs my stuffy nose! Its filled with all that good stuff like Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and Peppermint. If you can make similar soap, lotion, bath bombs etc etc I would appreciate it. The stuff I currently have is called Barefoot Venus Therapeutic Mustard Bath.

Cocoa butter, Shea butter some essential oils. I like relaxing smells since we use the massage bars before bed and when we use the cinnamon one I end up awake all night! Essentially the goods to craft me some massage bars.

About Me:

Hi, Im B! Im 21 years young and I live in Alberta, Canada. I love to sew and I am currently working on my entrance portfolio for Fashion Design in Fall 2008.

This past summer I bought a bicycle and I cannot seem to get off the thing for dear life. Hey name is Lilly and she is a purple and pearlized white Specialized Dolce Elite. I bet no one knows what this means but I just had to babble about my new favourite pastime besides sewing. If you are also into bikes and have a good idea for a seat bag or a handle bar bag in matching pearlescent white vinyl by all means grab it as a wish!

I have a sensitive little nose so if you smoke please Febreeze, I am also allergic to most perfumes and cant handle strong cleaner type smells. Think lemon, orange etc etc.

My style is fairly minimal and I am trying to reign in my taste for terrible tacky items. I am trying to take my love of mismatch to a more refined place of mixing unexpected prints etc etc. That being said I am the kind of girl who doesnt even wear makeup. I role out of bed and brush my hair (sometimes). I love earth tones and rich colours. Green is my favourite followed closely by purple, brown and amber/goldenrod. I have a strange love for that mustardy/goldy colour that no one else seems to like! I like black accessories because then I can get away with pairing them with every outfit I own. I also adore elephants! REALLY. Trees and leaves and birds and anything natur-y are good themes too. When it is warm out I am constantly outside getting myself dirty and when it is cold out I'm a home-body who spends a lot of time crafting and cooking and reading.

As for dislikes I am not a fan of any brand names, pastels, and while I love Disney movies I feel that the characters are better left to children.

I tried to make this long and all encompassing since I havent posted very much and I dont have much on my wists.

I claim gatheredthreads for:

anything to celebrate my new name!  This fall I legally changed my name to Dahlia (was previously Sarah)

This is my first claim this round.

About me - I live in Alberta, Canada and I'm a mostly stay-at-home Mom with 2 teenage sons (one finished school and the other I am homeschooling in grade 11) and a wonderful hubby!!  I do have a casual bank teller job that mainly keeps me busy in summer and December.  I'm one of the 'older' ones here (yes, I'm over 40!)  My main hobby at the moment is quilting but I also crochet, tole paint, cross stitch and I've been know to try lots of other crafts at least once.

This is my short list and if it stalls, I'll try to add more later.

Knit dishcloths - in bright colors (really, the brighter the better)

Tea towels with toppers so they can hang on my stove (I have gotten quite a few this year already but I never seem to have enough.)  We are in the process of a kitchen renovation and so the colors I'd like for the toppers are dark green, beige, brown or gold.  You can sew, knit or crochet the toppers.

Cotton fabric for quilting.  Any bright colors or fabric suitable for using in a baby quilt (except pastels) - I have a few to make in the next few months and my stash needs a little help.  At least a FQ/piece, please.

A stenciled or silk screened t-shirt for my hubby.  He wears a men's x-large and any color except white is great.  His favorite 'themes' are Coca-cola and the characters from M&M's.  If you claim this and want more ideas, PM me.

A stenciled or silk screen t-shirt for one (or both) of my sons.  They both wear men's medium and they'd be very happy with something related to either ice hockey or mountain bikes.  Again, no white shirts but orange, brown or green would be perfect.

Knit bootie style slippers for me (ladies 9-10) in dark blue, dark green or purple.

Check out my wists too!

Annchens wishlist

I live in Uppsala, Sweden. I'm 25 years old and since my fiance is away working I live alone at the moment. I'm currently stressed out about my thesis and also a bit stressed out about living alone :/

Knitting is my stress relief, but I also like to make designs with hama/perler beads and paint on anything that sits still long enough. I sew sometimes, mostly when I get a crazy idea for a gift to someone I like, and while I can handle a sewing machine I'm not that good at it. As you can see I write way too much...

I've got rheumatism that affects my hips, knees and shoulders and I love to be warm and snuggly since being cold can make it worse. I've recently discovered the wonder that is wrist warmers.

Likes: Chocolate, the way fresh ginger smells, baking cupcakes, roleplay and table top roleplay, sushi, to pet furry things, candlelight, steam sauna and other hot things.

Dislikes: Icy rain, cooold, overcooked pasta, bitchy notes in the laundry room, pastels.

I like bright fiery colours, but I can't wear bright red or things like that close to my face without looking like a vampire Sad Black, red (not tomato red), different purple colours... Green can be nice. Chocolate brown too. I'm not that good at figuring out what colours look good on me... Rainbow-colour if it's not a pastel rainbow. Anything goes for socks Cheesy

List, in no particular order:

Sewn things
A scoodie with dark purple fur lining. Not too bright purple (I'm not good at describing colours). I don't mind looking like I killed a Muppet, but I don't like blindingly bright colours next to my face since I'm pretty pale. My winter jacket is dark purple, more blueish than reddish if that makes sense.

A Kroko hot water bottle cover like the poor guy from The Asylum (http://www.parapluesch.de/). There is a Kroko plushie in my wists but I like the way he looks in the game more. I have a hot water bottle already and I can measure it for you.

Cloth pads or just a cloth pad. I've been wanting to try the circle pad but any model will do. I'm not a heavy bleeder and I'm just as happy with pads without wings. Recycled fabrics are fine and I don't mind bright colours to bleed on Wink
Circle pad: http://shewhorunsintheforest.googlepages.com/

A bag for storing my knitting when I want to take a project with me.

A nice tote bag, but not too big. If I have a big bag I stuff too much junk in it and can't carry it Smiley It needs to hold keys, phone, wallet and maybe a knitting or a book.

Yarny things
A knitted or crocheted beard.
I'm way to amused by this picture (I like the lower one better, but anything is good): http://www.pleasancepages.co.uk/node/1240

The flat kitty coaster from my wists. Any kitty-colour and pattern as long as it looks cute and squashed. If you feel like making a different kind of squashed animal that's fine too.
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=157293.0

This red eyed tree frog: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=195987.0

Craft supplies
Felt soap kit (or just a felted soap, they look so neat)

Or a soap kit? I'd like to try soap making but I'm not sure where to start...

If you have hama beads or perler beads (or similar beads) you don't use I'll gladly take them Grin pending from la_chrystelle

Small things/misc
Dpn point protectors to keep my socks-in-progress from poking innocent bystanders.

Earrings like these: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=15623.0

Sewer slug from Flushed away. As a plushie or polymer clay thing perhaps?

Hair clips or something to keep my hair out of my face. pending from la_chrystelle

Small things to put in a magic yarnball for my 13 year old cousin who just got into knitting. She made two hats in just a few weeks and is already plotting the next step. pending from la_chrystelle

Random
A feel good package something to brighten my day. It gets so dark and depressing at this time of the year.

Something inspired by my wists.

I claim Annchen for kooolaid from her wists (and some yarn to use it on)

this is my second claim this round, 1 in transit, and i'm in Wisconsin.

wish list (really big wishes in bold red)!

KNITTED AND CROCHETED THINGS:

a satchel bag like this http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/PATTsatchel.html  (bright colors, use up all your felting colors?)

Purple and white, thick gloves (not mittens, please) or fingerless mitts in purple - I had gotten a pair of gloves that appear to be out of something similar to peaches n cream, in purple and white stripes, and one got lost.... and I could really use something to keep my hands warm for the wisconsin winters!

An earflap hat for my son - he actually wants one - PM me for color and style, I have a bunch of patterns bookmarked

OR

a superlong stocking cap - I found this pattern for one, I"m thinking one that's long enough to wrap around your neck like a scarf?  http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/fiber_arts/105304

this felted backgammon board (or something similar)  http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/na_knitting/article/0,2025,DIY_14141_5311864,00.html

i love this felted bag - http://www.talklikeapirate.com/knitlikeapirate.html

Hand knitted socks - I heard they're not too terribly time consuming... (and my son says he'd like socks too, if someone was inclined to make them for him)

the felted monster slippers in the SNB book?

SEWN THINGS:
a flamenco skirt like this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=3905.msg29436#msg29436

a corset top - the kind with the mini-hooks up the front?  I have one, and i love it, would love another one!

6" pieced squares for my craftster quilt - I'd prefer they not be plain 6" squares of fabric, but the pieced ones?

can anyone figure out how to make a shrug jacket like this?  I LOVE this jacket, but this is the only picture I have of it
http://www.wists.com/Dulcinea/7e8bc1ec576c4d291d9c7cd844f89887?offset=40

another big wish - the pants from Burda Pattern number 8316 - they're a pair of pants that I love - view A (long, not crops) in the smallest size (and we can talk about sizing) (I can provide pattern and fabric, I just need someone who's a better sewer than I to actually make 'em)

I love this corset top - can even send the fabric for it!
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=127920.msg1283107#msg1283107

this skirt - anyone think they can find a pattern and make one?  it doesn't need to be so long... mid-calf would be perfect
http://www.shukronline.com/wt3601.html

If anyone loves to sew, I love this skirt!  would love a soft drapey sort of fabric
http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemID=12386&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C4477%2C9140%2C9143&iProductID=12386

a shirt like this, but long enough to tuck in - PM for sizing, please
http://www.kambriel.com/topwhite.html

Amy Butler Weekender bag

i love the idea of this comic book clutch... anyone want to give it a try?
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=83488.50

  • chunky weight wool - it's not like thick n quick, and it's not  like regular wool - it's somewhere in between, with a gauge of about 3-4 st. / 1 inch on about #8-10 needles...  anyway, in white, dark blue, forest green, deep purple, chocolate brown, something like that?
  • felting wool - i have a couple of projects that need felting wool, especially greens, purples, reds, both worsted weight and bulky weight - it can be undyed, and i can dye it myself

OTHER CRAFTED STUFF:

http://www.ecoist.com/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=11&idproduct=451

home-crafted body balms or body butter

i've seen these record notebooks - anyone think they can make these?  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=160934.msg1623605#msg1623605 <--- thank you k8kre8s - son wants one now, too!

Knitting and crocheting books - if one of these is just taking up space, I'd love to get a copy:
  • Twinkle's Big City Knits: 31 Chunky-Chic Designs
  • Knit with Beads: Stunning Shawls and Wraps: Easy Techniques, 15 Beautiful Designs

DIY kits:
  • drop spindle spinning
  • body butter

Whatever you're really good at - my wist, and my list, are a good indication of the sort of things I like - if there's something you're really good at, and you think I might like it, feel free to plan a surprise - truly, when people make things in friendship, they're received that way, too

something inspired by my wist  http://www.wists.com/Dulcinea  (I got yelled at that I hadn't added anything lately, so added over 30 new things to my wist)

devil dogs!!  I'm outta devil dogs! (if you don't know what they are, you probably can't get them by you)

and if i stall out the swap, someone yell at me, and i'll add more stuff.

... right... about me.  I'm the REALLY old lady in the crowd (even older since my last b'day, but i haven't hit 50 yet!), the one peering over the bifocals.  The one who may have managed to tear up my shoulder by knitting too much.  I have 1 teenager at home, and my day job is a computer programmer.  I have no allergies, no issues with animal products, would prefer to avoid religion/religious articles and politics at all costs.... my favorite colors are the jewel tones, think ruby, sapphire, emerald... i don't do terribly well with pastels.  We live in an apartment, where space is always at a premium... so small things that sit on tables and shelves and don't do anything except collect dust aren't a great thing here.

Thanks in advance to anyone who chooses me
