jordy-style messenger bag

i made this messenger bag with a jordy-style bottom to carry my school stuff. the lining is pink with tiny polka dots and i hot-glued some buttons on the outside. velcro flap closure and one small pocket inside.

That looks great! Is that canvas you used for the outside? And did you do anything extra to reinforce the strap? I want to make myself a bag for school, but I'm worried about the strap being too flimsy.

the outer fabric is suiting fabric, i believe, because it is fairly sturdy. the strap is just doubled over and topstiched, and that made it fairly sturdy!

So.. Its basically the jordy bag with a flap only larger and with a variation on how big the corner notches are so that it doesnt taper so much at the top??? Just makin sure cause that seems simpler than the gusset version.

yep, that is pretty much exactly how i did it! haha, i also looked at the gusset bag and couldn't figure it out
