I lack the foresight needed for before pictures. But I had all these sweaters that don't fit quite right, or that I've shrunk in the wash, or were just out of date. I decided to franken-sweater them - cutting them up and sewing back together into something lovely. It was great fun!

A couple parts I sewed by hand, but most I used my serger for. I think if you don't mind the ruffled edge exposed seam look (like in the top photo) you could use the zig zag stitch on a regular sewing machine. If you're afraid it will pull and stretch too much you could sew over paper to stabilize (I did that on the green sweater to keep the ribbing from ruffling)

I really like the way you combined elements. And the sleeves on the first piece are lovely and long.

Very cool! I've been thinking about doing this for a while, but worried about them unraveling when cutting them.  What do you do to keep this from happening?

Thanks!!! Grin
