Very nice! Do you just attach the zipper the same way you would when sewing a bag with liner? How is it able to stand up around the edges?

I hope these aren't obvious questions!  Huh

Thanks guys, I was totally desperate for something to do the job at the time and couldn't find owt online similar plus time was short, so thought I might as well give it a go, and whilst my workmanship wasn't the best as it was one of the first things I sewed I'm still well chuffed with it and get lots of comments.

what kind of fabric did you use?  I'd be concerned about static wiping out my data from the way it looks...is there some type of inner liner?

It would have to be a really large static charge though I think to damage the data so I'm not worried, after all when you buy memory cards they're not in anti-static packaging or owt to prevent them corrupting.  I've carried it around and used it for over a year and a half now with no probs to any of my cards.  Mine is made with a canvassy outer, xtra heavy interfacing and lining fabric.  I wonder if there is any kind of anti-static material available (short of using those little silver bags they send RAM in) that could be used tho if you're worried, anyone ideas?

Well it was a while ago I did it now and it was my first zipper so I just kinda played it by ear and guessed what to do.  It's just sandwiched between the lining and interfacing/outer like you would for a bag yeah.  The zipper like stands up round the edges rather than just lying flat as it's sewn curved round the entire wallet thing so it kinda has to curve, if that makes sense :S  I'm totally going to have to make another one to try and remember how I did it!  If I had friends that were in anyway technologically minded I'd make some for xmas pressies but I don't think my friends even know what an SD card is!!  Shocked

Absolutely LOVE this idea...
I may just make myself something similar to hold all my little digital SLR goodies that seem to wander in places that I can never find when I need them!
