i'm intrigued by the concept==and i love your war example!==but i'm finding the weblink a little frustrating.  do they really expect me to buy a dvd to find out what the "process" is, or am i just missing the part where they state the "specified series of steps"?

I think they do expect you to buy the DVD, or the kit.  And I respect that -- they are artists with an idea trying to make something of it.  Having said that though, I'm not buying it.

Out of respect for the artists, I won't post any links here, but if you look around the zentangle site, and then google "zentangle", you can find enough discussion and images of it to put together a sense of the process.

You didn't miss anything ... it wasn't there. I, too, got frustrated with their site, but read some other references to it that others have done, studied their gallery a little bit, and read some stuff on it on another swap site (there is a Inspired by Zentangle swap going on that I got in on). I am not sure what their steps are, but basically you just come up with some random shapes and lines, and then fill in the spaces in between with repeating patterns. I put two of mine up in the December gallery.
